VB.NET Whidbey Demo#

Fawcette is hosting a nice demo on VB.NET Whidbey taped from VSLive! in New York last July. The demo is taken from the keynote by Eric Rudder, but don't bother to sit it out: the demo is by far the most interesting part.

The sound starts out pretty crappy but don't worry, it gets a little better ;-)

Oh my god, this blows my mind, really I've never seen such b*llsh*t!

First of all, I don't ever want to see "Make EXE" again in the File menu... This is so passé.

XML documentation is nice, but this is old stuff. And showing this documentation when coding already comes with one of the early Eclipse versions, as well as templates to "ease" the programming experience.

They even claim that there can be such a thing as an advanced VB.NET programmer, seriously you guys make me laugh ;-)

Just one last statement on this: if my company ever asks me to program in VB.NET, I'm leaving so fast that they can't even use the highly productive my.Computers.Printers.DefaultPrinter.Print("blabla") tssss....

This is my personal website, not my boss', not my mother's, and certainly not the pope's. My personal opinions may be irrelevant, inaccurate, boring or even plain wrong, I'm sorry if that makes you feel uncomfortable. But then again, you don't have to read them, I just hope you'll find something interesting here now and then. I'll certainly do my best. But if you don't like it, go read the pope's blog. I'm sure it's fascinating.
