Windows Server 2003 Goes Silence#

Funny, I'm on a Windows Server 2003 box for these Whidbey explorations and it seems to be configured for absolute silence (well, for annoying beeps actually) by default:

Ok so it makes sense because it's a server OS but still ;-) Note that you hace to be an administrator to turn on the sound, I wonder if there's a possible security issue when sound is enabled...

No security issue with sound, I guess... But you don't want users, other than administrators, to mess with the system's settings, do you? :)

Microsoft states it this way at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;332020
"By default, Windows Server 2003 disables sounds for stability and security."
I guess there are some really BAD sound drivers out there ;-).

This is my personal website, not my boss', not my mother's, and certainly not the pope's. My personal opinions may be irrelevant, inaccurate, boring or even plain wrong, I'm sorry if that makes you feel uncomfortable. But then again, you don't have to read them, I just hope you'll find something interesting here now and then. I'll certainly do my best. But if you don't like it, go read the pope's blog. I'm sure it's fascinating.
